This roadside station is located in Kitsuregawa, Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, which was a castle town on the Oshu Highway in the Edo period. It is also a roadside station with hot spring facilities at Kitsuregawa Onsen, known as one of the three best hot springs for skin in Japan. There are approximately 900 roadside stations in Japan, but this roadside station always ranks high in a survey of roadside stations in the Kanto region and has been selected as one of the 50 most popular roadside stations in Japan.
There is also a restaurant of a famous kappo restaurant and a bakery of “onsen-ban” (hot spring bread), a specialty bread representing Kitsuregawa.
The direct sales shop sells fresh vegetables, locally brewed sake, “ayu sushi” and “sweetened ayu fish” that make use of the local specialty, ayu (sweetened ayu fish).

In addition to indoor and outdoor baths, a sauna, and a water bath, the hot spring facilities also include a quahouse where visitors can enjoy themselves while wearing swimsuits. At the “direct sales shop” inside the roadside station, you can purchase fresh vegetables from local farmers, mainly from Sakura City, as well as original products of the roadside station. In the restaurant and café attached to the roadside station, you can enjoy “Gochisou Kitsuregawa Ramen” from Takesue Ramen Shop, “Ujiie Udon” made from locally produced flour, “Gyoza” from Utsunomiya Gyoza-kan, “Onsen bread” with over 60 years of history, prepared foods and boxed meals hand-made by local mothers, popular “Gelato” and “Taiyaki”, etc. and taiyaki, and other popular delicacies handmade by local mothers.
