This is a museum where visitors can “play” with toys in a building reminiscent of a medieval Western castle. It is located in the Mibu Town General Park (Road Station Mibu) in Mibu Town, which has a strong connection with toys, and is also known as “Toy Town,” a place where toy manufacturers’ factories and warehouses are located.
The museum is bright and colorful, with many fun corners to play in. There is a “Kids’ Land” where visitors can play with their bodies, and a “Kids’ Town” where approximately 9,000 valuable and nostalgic toys from around the 1960s are on display, making it a fun place for families of both children and adults. In addition, visitors can run a model train in the “Model Train Room,” which displays one of the largest dioramas in the northern Kanto region.
Kisland
The “Kids’ Land” on the first floor is designed in the image of the “Kingu-Tokuin” garden. The large playground equipment, “Kingu Toukuin,” includes a “Kuru Kuru Slide,” a “Minomushi House,” and net playground equipment. There is also a “ball pool” that is very popular among children, allowing them to enjoy playing with their bodies.
Kids’ Troop
In the “Kids’ Town” on the second floor, the streets of “Kingu Tween” are recreated. Each room displays approximately 9,000 valuable toys divided by category, which children can freely touch and play with. In the “Nari-giri Studio,” visitors can change into their favorite costumes and have their commemorative photos taken.
Sora no Hiroba
Sora no Hiroba” on the third floor is a playground that is reminiscent of a blue sky. This zone is mainly for preschoolers, and the airship playground equipment “Mirai Go” welcomes children. On fine days, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the majestic Nikko Mountain Range.
Model Train Room
In addition, the annex houses the “Model Train Room,” one of the largest dioramas in northern Kanto, with N-gauge and HO-gauge diorama courses reproducing 18 world heritage sites, including Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Horyuji Temple, and Notre Dame de Paris. The diorama’s control seats are also located high above the ground, allowing visitors to enjoy the realism of driving. Visitors can also bring their own favorite trains to run (for a fee).
This museum allows both children and adults to enjoy the world of toys while playing to their heart’s content. We encourage you to visit!
