Nasu Stained Glass Museum

The beautiful sound of the pipe organ echoes through the museum

A magnificent building and a lovely garden welcome you to this museum, where you will feel as if you were in England.

The majestic stone-built medieval nobleman’s pavilion stands in a lush garden that recreates the rural landscape of the Cotswolds region in England, and you will be completely enchanted by the scenery.

Everything about the building, from the materials to the construction methods, is authentic. The interior is filled with a stone-built yet somehow warm atmosphere.

The museum is beautifully decorated with antique stained glass windows, mainly from the 1800s, collected from churches in Europe, and they make the viewer feel peaceful and tranquil.

Pipe organs and music boxes are played inside the museum, allowing visitors to enjoy sounds they would not normally hear.

The aroma of aromas in the air and the sound of the music boxes create a relaxing atmosphere.

The TWO Angels, the symbol of the Nasu Stained Glass Museum, are also a must-see. This work was created by William Morris, a master of stained glass. It was created in England in 1900.

The museum also exhibits a number of Richard Lee’s lamps. His lamps are an invitation to a fantasy world and are displayed throughout the entire second floor.

In St. Raphael’s Chapel, the walls are covered with beautiful stained glass windows in the rose window design that began in the Romanesque period, through which soft light pours in. The sound of the pipe organ echoes through the hall, offering a solemn and elegant experience.

Hands-on classes are also offered, where you can create a stained glass ornament or other work of art that will become a memento of your trip. The stained glass hands-on class, where visitors can create one-of-a-kind stained glass pieces, is very popular with parents and children.

The museum has two stores: the museum store and the on-site store “Koln,” which offers a full range of souvenirs.

Stained glass-style goods are popular souvenirs. For those who want to enjoy authentic stained glass, we recommend the stained glass lamp. Original bookmarks and other products exclusive to the museum are also available.

On weekends, concerts with various musical instruments are held in St. Gabriel’s Chapel at the Nasu Stained Glass Museum. Special concerts are also held on an irregular basis.

In addition, St. Michel Church, located next to the museum, has a beautiful white exterior and is built in the Gothic style.

Inside the church is a 4.5 meter high stained glass window depicting the Archangel Michel, the church’s namesake.
