The site covers an area of 831 hectares, which is 178 times the size of the Tokyo Dome. The ranch has been designated as a “bird and animal sanctuary,” preserving the natural beauty of the area. The soft-serve ice cream made from 100% raw milk of the cows raised here is exquisite. Visitors can also enjoy petting animals, horseback riding, butter making, and other activities. Senbonmatsu Ranch was established in 1902. The ranch was positioned as part of the Nasunogahara pioneering efforts, and is known for pioneering the introduction of Western-style farm management using large machinery. The name was taken from the red pine forests that surrounded it, and in 1964, the ranch began serving Genghis Khan cuisine, strengthening its aspect as a tourist ranch.

Especially since the 1980s, the extension of the Tohoku Expressway has improved transportation access and increased its popularity. The ranch offers hands-on agricultural facilities, food and beverages, and agricultural products for sale. Visitors can also enjoy hot-air ballooning, horseback riding, horse-drawn carriage rides, and hot spring bathing. The area receives approximately 800,000 to 900,000 visitors annually, and with over 200 hectares of pastureland and more than 500 dairy cows, it produces approximately 8 tons of raw milk annually.

Nasu Senbonmatsu Onsen

You can enjoy a day trip to the hot spring in the natural surroundings of Senbonmatsu Ranch.

Senbonmatsu Onsen is a natural hot spring located in the beautiful natural environment of Senbonmatsu Ranch, with an abundance of hot water. The hot spring water is drawn directly from the source, and its soft texture is comfortable and warms the body from the inside out. It is also good for beautiful skin. The Japanese-style garden open-air baths provide a soothing and relaxing atmosphere.

The open-air baths, which are fed by the source of the spring water, have slightly yellowish water with a distinctive aroma. The high concentration of hydrogen ions (PH value) in this hot spring water helps to remove dead skin cells and keep the skin smooth.

After bathing in the hot spring, enjoy cold, delicious ranch milk and relax in the free rest area. In addition, there is a footbath available free of charge.

It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Tokyo by direct bus “Nasu-Shiobara-go”. Nasu Senbonmatsu Ranch, with its vast grounds and beautiful nature, is a free admission ranch.
